What is a CSA?
CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. It’s origins come from townships that would bring in a farmer to tend to the land with families pitching in to invest in the crops. At the end of the growing season, the crops were split amongst the families. Nowadays, the model looks a bit different, but has the same mindset and goal.

Sand n' Straw Community Farm's CSA prices cover the costs involved in growing you the best possible produce using organic and regenerative agricultural principles. We rely on CSA subscriptions to thrive, and as a thank you for your support, we will provide you with weekly boxes of fresh produce straight from the farm. This allows you to get a great variety of tastes while supporting your local farmer and economy.
We aim to have a variety of items in your share each week including greens, root crops, herbs, fruits, and vegetables. You will receive 10-12 items in our full share and 5-6 items in our half share. We give you the option of picking out your own produce or we can assemble your CSA boxes for you with a variety of items.
CSA boxes can be picked up at the Farm Stand Wednesday thru Saturday from 10 am to 3 pm with extended pick up hours on Wednesday evenings until 6:30 pm.
Members pre-pay the costs of their selected Share Plan on a quarterly basis. This helps provide an idea of how many families we are planting for. Full shares are $390 a quarter and half shares are $195. This breaks down to $30 per week for a full share and $15 per week for a half share. If you join the CSA in the middle of the quarter, your share can be prorated, please stop by the farm stand to join during the quarter.
CSA quarters are set as follows:
January - March
April - June
July - September
October - December
We will bill you each subsequent quarter with payment due by the 25th of the month prior to the start of the quarter. Donations above the minimum are deeply appreciated as they are used to fund our farm's growth, outreach, and educational efforts.
